Congratulations to St Catharine's alumnus George Nash (2008), who was part of the triumphant World Rowing Championships Men's Eight in France, for the second time in three years. The crew beat Germany to claim the world title, and this victory confirms their place at the Olympics next year in Rio.
George read Engineering at St Catharine's and rowed for the University throughout his time here, including a year as CUBC President. He won a bronze medal in the Coxless Pairs at the London 2012 Olympics (pictured, George on right). In the World Rowing Championships, he was part of the first ever gold medal-winning Men's Eight at 2013's World Rowing Championships, and rowed in the Men's Coxless Four in 2014, which won gold medals at the 2014 European Rowing Championships and the 2014 World Rowing Championships, as well as several Rowing World Cup events.
