College Open Days are a great way to get an idea of what it's like to live and study at St Catharine's (Catz). However, while open days can be an excellent way of informing your decisions about university, we do not want potential applicants' options to be narrowed by their ability to attend them (for example, due to associated travel cost as reported by the BBC). You should be assured that if you are unable to attend an open day, this will in no way affect the chances of success of any subsequent application. Also, all the information you need to apply should be on this College website, the University website, or the UCAS website – but if you have any further questions, please do feel free to email us.
If you are a UK student who believes that travel costs would prevent you from attending one of our College events, please email Lauren at slo@caths.cam.ac.uk. We are happy to pay for the travel expenses of any student interested in visiting us who receives Free School meals or Pupil Premium.
Cambridge University Open Days: Friday 13th September 2024
The in-person elements of the University Open Days will take place on this date, and you will be able to find more information and book free tickets on the University admissions website.
On this day, St Catharine's will be very much open, with an information desk at the front of the college, and tours with current students. You do not need to book to come into St Catharine's on these days - we'll be out the front of the college under a big red gazebo waiting to welcome you!
Professor David Bainbridge, the Admissions tutor at St Catharine's College, will be giving a talk about admissions to Cambridge at 12pm. There is no need to pre-book, we have capacity for 160 and we will admit people on a first come, first served basis.
