There are two main rehearsal spaces in College, both of them on the Island Site.
The Music Room
The Music Room is the College's main rehearsal space, as well as being used as a robing room for the College Choir and the Girls' Choir. It contains a Schimmel grand piano and space for an ensemble of up to 10 people.
To gain access, you must first register with The Director of Music (email: music@caths.cam.ac.uk), stating your name, @cam.ac.uk e-mail address, year, instrument and level of experience. Once your registration is accepted, your swipe card will be automatically enabled so that you can access the room. You can see from the diary when the room is free and, if you wish to ensure a specific time, you may book in advance.
The room may not be booked for more than 2 hours per day.
The Chapel
The College's Chapel may be used for practice only by those specially authorised by the Director of Music; access is generally restricted music students, choir members and instrumental award holders. The chapel is home to Steinway B grand piano and an organ designed by William Johnson (restored by Flentrop).
The Chapel piano and the organ are accessed with keys that can be signed out at the Porters' Lodge.
Other College keyboards
The College owns a number of electronic keyboards which will be allocated to music students, music award holders and others, on application to the Director of Music at music@caths.cam.ac.uk.
