Honey from Master's garden wins first prize

Friday 30 August 2019

This year's honey from the Master's garden was entered into the annual Cambridgeshire Bee Keepers Association (CBKA) honey competition at the Fenland Show on 25 August. In the category judged blind, purely on aroma and taste, the two expert professional judges placed the St Catharine's honey first out of 29 entries. The judges said "it had a lovely floral flavour which lasted a very long time on the palate." The Master would like to thank the ~50000 bees that produced the honey and Alan North, the Head Gardener, who provided an abundance of bee-friendly flowers.

The Master, who has been keeping bees since 2006, has hives in College and at his laboratory in West Cambridge.
