New PhD award named in honour of Master

Friday 7 August 2015

Thanks to the generosity of St Catharine’s alumnus, Peter Dawson (1974) and of his wife Christina, St Catharine's is delighted to announce the creation of a new graduate award.

The Jean Thomas PhD Award, named after our College Master, Professor Dame Jean Thomas (2007), is to be awarded annually to a Home or EU student undertaking a PhD in the Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences at St Catharine's. The Award covers full University fees and maintenance for three years and is to be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrable financial need.

The deadline for applications to be received at St Catharine's is 31 March each year, with the recipient annouced later in the spring. Full details of the award and an application form can be found in our graduate finance section.

Further information on other funding opportunities available at St Catharine's is available on the postgraduate admissions pages.
