Professor Henry ('Harry') Elderfield FRS (1943-2016)

With great sadness we announce the death of Professor Harry Elderfield FRS on Tuesday 19th April 2016, at the age of 72, after a short illness. 

Harry was Emeritus Professor of Ocean Geochemistry and Palaeochemistry in the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge, and an Emeritus Fellow of St Catharine's College.  He was a distinguished academic who received many awards for his research contributions, and was a much loved and respected colleague who will be greatly missed. 

There will be a memorial event in the Michaelmas Term. Details will follow in due course.
