St Catharine’s facilities accredited by the Meetings Industry Association

Thursday 17 September 2020

St Catharine’s College is delighted to have received AIM Secure accreditation from the Meetings Industry Association (mia), in recognition of our first-class service, excellent facilities and a total commitment to upholding legal compliance and health and safety protocols.

The mia is the principal association supporting and growing the business meetings and events industry in the UK and the keeper of AIM Secure – the country’s only recognised quality standard for the sector.

The College’s experienced conference and catering team has been working intensively over the summer to determine what hospitality will look like for Michaelmas term onwards, with a primary focus on ensuring the safety of St Catharine’s students, staff and Fellows and maintaining standards of service.

Robert Jonas, Conference & Catering Director, explains, “Today’s news is testament to the hard work and diligence of our team, who have been committed to upholding the highest standards in quite exceptional circumstances. As part of the efforts recognised by mia, a range of safety measures and systems have already been implemented, including comprehensive cleaning regimes and signage encouraging safer behaviours for anyone using our meeting spaces, Hall and Bar.”

Robert adds, “The College’s beautiful, unique and flexible facilities are popular with event and conference organisers across the UK and further afield. Based on the latest official advice, we are looking forward to resuming externally-organised events at the start of 2021. We look forward to discussing event plans with organisers and we will be continuing to uphold the highest standards across all our facilities in the meantime.”
