Dr Denis Lacabanne

Bye-Fellow

Dr Denis Lacabanne obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Lyon, specialising in solid-state Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) studies of membrane proteins. He then moved to the ETH Zürich, where he focused on the mechanisms of ATPases (ABC transporters and helicases) using NMR and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR).

In 2020, Dr Denis Lacabanne joined the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit in Cambridge, where he uses cryo-EM to study mitochondrial carriers, critical for metabolism. His goal is to understand their properties and enzymatic mechanisms by resolving their structures, which will lead to a better understanding of their associated genetic diseases.
