I came to St Catharine’s for my BA in 2011, and have been here ever since. My PhD focused on the work of the novelist Henry James, and I am currently revising this into a book provisionally titled ‘Jamesian Tonalities’. My broader research focuses on British and American literature in the long nineteenth century, as well as on literary theory, philosophical aesthetics, and moral philosophy. Most of my teaching overlaps with this research, but I also enjoy working with students on the ‘practical criticism’ paper, which is a brilliant way to explore an even wider range of writers and ideas.
