As Director of Undergraduate Teaching at the Department of Materials Science, my responsibilities involve working with the other Teaching Fellow and the rest of the Teaching Committee to coordinate, develop and run our undergraduate course.
I give lecture courses on a range of aspects of Materials Science, including Non-Metallic Materials, Electronic Properties of Materials, and Biomaterials.
Before taking on my current role, I studied Natural Sciences (specialising in Materials Science) at Robinson College, and then spent several years carrying out doctoral and post-doctoral research. My work focussed on polymeric spinal disc replacements, collagen fibres for ligament and tendon regeneration, and bone regeneration scaffolds.
I am also one of the two Deputy Directors of Education for the School of Physical Sciences.
