Professor Tao Soon Cham

BEng (Civil), University of Malaya; BSc (Maths), University of London; PhD (Fluid Mechanics), University of Cambridge. Professor Cham was the founding President of Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 1981 and had relinquished the post in 2002 and is its President (Emeritus). He was the Chancellor and Chairman of SIM University from 2005 – 2014. He is the Chairman of NSL Ltd, Soup Restaurant Group Ltd and Singapore Quality Award Governing Council; and the deputy Chairman of Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. He serves as a director of United Overseas Bank (China) Ltd. He is the President of Academy of Engineering, Singapore. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order by the Singapore Government in 2003.
