It is with great sadness that St Catharine’s College learnt that Nicholas Haynes, alumnus and Fellow Commoner of the College, died unexpectedly in Oxfordshire earlier in June.
He was admitted to read law at St Catharine’s as an undergraduate in 1970 and was elected as a Fellow Commoner in 2005 in recognition of his years of service to St Catharine’s.
Professor Sir Mark Welland, Master of St Catharine's, commented, "Nick was a dedicated member of St Catharine’s and his absence will be keenly felt by our community. He devoted so much of his expertise, time and energy to serving the College, most recently as a longstanding member of our Investment Committee. On behalf of everyone at St Catharine’s, I want to express my deepest sympathies to his family at this difficult time.”
